GradSWE at Illinois is committed to having a safe and healthy environment for the weSTEM 2023 conference.
At this time, we are still planning for a fully in-person conference at the I-Hotel at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign on Saturday February 11th, 2023. Our top priority remains the health and safety of our attendees, speakers, and sponsors. We believe that we, along with our venue partners, can create a safe, welcoming environment for our attendees to share the experiences they rely on weSTEM to provide .
Masks:
All participants are
strongly encouraged to wear a face covering when not eating or drinking,
regardless of vaccination status. However, the University of Illinois
Urbana-Champaign does not require face coverings during in-person events. We
will continue to monitor and adjust the policies as conditions change. Wearing
a face covering remains a personal choice

.COVID-19 Testing Prior to the Conference:
There is currently no COVID-19 testing requirement for University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. However, we strongly recommend testing (PCR or rapid) prior to the conference regardless of vaccination status.Participants are asked not to attend the event if they are feeling unwell, have been in contact with someone who has tested positive or COVID-19 within ten days leading up to the event, or have displayed COVID-19 symptoms within 48 hours preceding the event. If you are unable to attend the conference for any of these reasons, the conference committee will work with you to provide a full refund.
If a participant becomes unwell during the conference, they should immediately inform a member of the conference committee who will work with the venue to isolate the participant and assist them seeking medical attention as needed. If a participant becomes unwell within ten days following the event, they are asked to please notify Justine Paul, at westemdirector@gmail.com.
